# The Investment Committee Workflow Is Live

In August, we put our research process into an AI-enabled, agentic workflow. The next problem begins where research ends.

Good research does not decide whether a portfolio should change. We have now put that decision process into the workflow too. It starts with a simple question: **does anything need to change?**

Four principles guide the process:

- **The default is to hold.** A holding keeps its seat unless something specific dislodges it.
- **Character comes before price.** A low price cannot make an unsuitable business worth owning.
- **Ranking helps us compare.** It does not decide what is worth owning.
- **Trading needs a reason.** A change in ranking is not enough.

When the procedure does not determine the answer, the system does not manufacture one. It records the judgement, the reasoning and anything unresolved. The committee can conclude that nothing should change. In 2025, two of our four quarterly reviews resulted in no trades. Leaving the portfolio alone was the decision, not the absence of one.

### **What is live today**

The first full cycle has run end to end, from eligibility and ranking through stewardship review to the final decision record. It was an operating test and no trades were executed from it.

AI agents carry the research into the committee process, apply the written procedures, perform calculations and assemble the record. They do not make the investment decision. Judgement remains explicit and attributable to a person.

The [Steward Productive System Framework](https://www.zenithgrove.com/spsf/) provides the common basis for assessing each business. The workflow is operational, although the minutes and some calculations remain under refinement.

### **The next milestone**

The next step is reporting on what we own and how it behaves.

That means more than reporting numbers. We want the account to show what changed and why, what our stewardship has taught us, and what kinds of productive activity the portfolio is exposed to.

The reporting basis is still being built. The work has started.
